Trying to figure out the Equinox EV's range. GM quotes 319 miles for FWD and 285 miles for AWD, but throws in a wheel size variable with the bigger 21" rims. Anyone know for sure which setup (FWD/AWD, 19"/21") they used for those official range numbers?

My money's on the 19" wheels on the FWD trims (2LT likely) for the best figures. Tesla folks saw a 26-mile drop at 75mph going from 19" to 21", so the Equinox might follow suit (though numbers could vary).

If that 26-mile loss holds true, then a 21" FWD might get around 293 miles (319-26) and a 21" AWD might be closer to 259 miles (285-26) at 75mph.

Anyone with inside info on the official test setup?

I wouldn't depend on the range if I were you. I would just consider my needs. If you think the FWD or AWD is all you need, then either option could be a great choice.

I agree with @Guimary. You can also check the Engineering Explained YouTube channel. I hope it helps!

GM's official numbers typically use the most efficient configuration, likely FWD with 19" wheels. Larger rims often reduce range due to increased rolling resistance and weight. Any GM insiders?

I think you're right about the 19" wheels on the FWD trims for the official range numbers. As for the 21" wheels, the range drop could be similar to what Tesla's seen but exact numbers may vary. I haven’t seen official confirmation yet on the specific test setup though
