Can you buy a kayak rack for the Equinox EV that you can attach and detach easily? I want to avoid any drag when I'm not using it.

Yeah, you can! Chevy has a rail kit option that could work for you. Just a heads up, though. If you are thinking about Thule or Yakima, their current stuff might come out with something compatible soon. It is worth keeping an eye on.

Aero crossbars are designed to minimize drag, which is important for fuel efficiency. I personally install and remove mine seasonally, usually for the summer months.
With the aero bars in place, you can easily attach kayak carriers from brands like Thule or Yakima. Simply choose a carrier with clamps that fit your specific crossbars, and you're ready to go!

You can add aero cross-bars to your Equinox EV’s fixed rails, either from GM or later from Thule/Yakima. Aero bars add minimal drag and my wife and I remove ours seasonaly. For kayaks just grab a compatible carrier clamp it on and you’re ready to go
