I’m really enjoying my new Equinox EV 2RS, but I’ve run into an odd issue with the wireless phone charging. Even though it was advertised as a feature, it doesn’t seem to work on my car. I reached out to Chevy, and they confirmed that wireless charging wasn’t actually included, despite it being in the original promotion for the Equinox EV.

There’s a spot under the rubber pad where the wireless charging module should be, and it even looks like there’s some tech there that could be related, but it’s not functional.

Has anyone else experienced this? Curious if it’s just certain models or if no Equinox EVs have it at all.

That's common. GM just likes to build cars without "completing" them with components and other features installed. Haha! Funny, but annoyingly sad and frustrating.

The feature is not included in the order book... so there is no surprise.

I’ve heard similar complaints, it seems some Equinox EV models were promoted with wireless charging, but it didn’t make the final cut.

Unfortunately, it is not included. The final released units usually will have some features missing from what's advertised especially if the ad you saw is launching and start of manufacturing took years.

They shouldn’t have advertised it if they weren’t planning to include it. It’s odd they couldn’t make this happen, especially since it doesn’t seem like a difficult feature to add, my phone charger at home works perfectly. Plus, with all the other advanced features like the 360 parking camera working great it just doesn’t make sense. Just my two cents

The hardware is there - at least it is in my 3LT. Lift the thin mat right where you'd expect it to be.

Same here...and the adverts said mine would have heated mirrors, but nope. The upper tier basically adds those and a couple of other minor upgrades for many thousands more.

That’s a real bummer, especially since it was advertised as a feature. Sounds like Chevy’s got a little surprise in store for us! We’re actually dealing with the same issue and I'm currently using a cigarette lighter USB charger. Hopefully we can get it sorted and maybe score a little discount for the inconvenience. Let’s hope it’s just a model glitch and not a full-on feature ghosting
