GM has said that by 2026, every Ultium EV would be able to charge in both directions and have vehicle-to-home (V2H) backup. The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST will be the vehicle to debut the function, with the GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Chevrolet Equinox EV, Cadillac Lyriq, and Cadillac Escalade IQ models following suit. A 12-volt dark-start battery, a grid disconnect button, an inverter, and an enablement kit are included in the Ultium Home V2H Bundle.

This is great news for EV owners, and this will surely entice other customers to switch and buy their very own EV. This feature has only been available to a few EV and it makes the price go up when this feature is included. The Ultium Home V2H Bundle will be the future of EVs and I think it will be a great stepping stone to a sustainable future.

The inclusion of V2H in the Ultium lineup is exciting...Do you think the added backup capability will significantly influence your choice of EV?

Well, looks like GM is ready to turn your car into your personal power plant! By 2026, you could be charging your home with your EV, talk about turning your commute into an energy saving mission. Just imagine: "Honey, I ran out of power... so I plugged the house into the truck:LOL:

GM's betting big on bi directional charging and V2H by 2026 that's pretty wild. Imagine your EV powering your house during a blackout. The Silverado EV RST is leading the charge then the rest of the gang foll. Cool idea but I wonder how many folks will actually use it. It's gonna be pricey to set up and you gotta really need that backup power to make it worth it.
