So the New Chevy Equinox EV can haul 1,500 pounds or 680 kgs no matter the trim. The Equinox EV’s owner manual suggests that owners don't juice up the battery over 80% for mountain drives to keep regen braking in check. Also, GM says to hold off on towing for the first 500 miles to avoid any mishaps. Just some tips to keep your Equinox EV running smoothly.

The new Chevy Equinox EV is a monster because of all the power it contains under the hood. It has great towing capacity, it even has a range of 319 miles for the FWD and 285 miles for the AWD. It even adds 70 miles in just under 10 minutes of charging. Isn't that quite convenient for us? Thanks for the tip man, cheers.

You can also check the Owner’s Manual for additional information. Hope it helps!

I found this on their gmauthority's blog.

1500 pounds is horrible. Every other EV around its class has a higher tow rating. A 2300 pound 15 foot travel trailer is 50% over the tow rating even though the Equinox EV weighs over 2x the weight of the travel trailer. Teslas can tow 3500-5000 pounds and weighs less than Equinox EV. Hyundai and Kia can tow more. The ID4 can tow more. SMH

Good to know about the 500-mile break-in period before towing! I’m planning to tow a small utility trailer, so I’ll definitely keep that in mind. The 80% battery charge limit for mountain driving makes sense, regen braking can be strong, and maybe GM wants to avoid overloading the system on long downhill stretches. Has anyone tested how much range drop towing causes yet?

This is really helpful, I'm learning new things about the Equinox EV. I especialy appreciate the tip about the 80% charge limit for mountain driving, that's something I wouldn't have considered. Thanks for sharing these details
