Maximizing the 2024 Equinox EV Towing Capacity

Good to know about the 500-mile break-in period before towing! I’m planning to tow a small utility trailer, so I’ll definitely keep that in mind. The 80% battery charge limit for mountain driving makes sense, regen braking can be strong, and maybe GM wants to avoid overloading the system on long...

Would You Drive a Hydrogen Equinox

I’d definitely consider a hydrogen Equinox, but only if the infrastructure improves massively. Right now, EVs have a clear advantage with more charging options, while hydrogen is still really limited outside of places like California. The quick refueling is appealing, but until it’s as...

    The 2025 motor

I doubt Chevy went through the effort of engineering a whole new motor for just one model year. More likely they adjusted the power mapping or fine-tuned the inverter settings to squeeze out a little more performance. If there’s an actual hardware change it’s probably minimal like different...

Folding mirrors shut off my Equinox EV

That sounds like a bug, not a feature! No way Chevy intentionally designed the mirrors to kill the car’s power. It might be a faulty connection between the mirror controls and the security system. If it happens every time, I’d have the dealership check for a firmware update or loose wiring issue.

    Battery level check

As cool as that feature sounds, I don’t think Chevy included tap-to-check battery level on the Equinox EV. Most EVs that have it are higher-end brands like Lucid or Tesla. Best way to check is through the MyChevy app or when you unlock the car.

Folding mirrors shut off my Equinox EV

I discovered something really weird today while taking my Equinox EV through the car wash. Like I always do with my cars, I folded the side mirrors in before pulling in. But when I got back in the car was dead! The security light was on, and no matter how many times I pressed the brake, nothing...
