I can't believe how efficient my son's Equinox EV is! It's way bigger and heavier than our old 2nd gen Volt, but he's getting much better mileage. Same commute, and the Volt's best was 13.5 kWh. Now he is regularly getting 11.7 kWh with the Equinox that's a 16% jump! Crazy. Anyone else seeing similar improvements, especially if you came from a Volt? Any tricks for squeezing even more range out of this thing?

Averaging 3.9 mi/KWh, my 2024 Equinox EV 2LT, with my daily commute hitting 4.2 mi/KWh. For comparison, my Volt needed 13.5 KWh for my 49-mile commute, while the EQEV only uses 11.7 KWh. So, my EQEV is definitely cheaper to run. I chalk it up to its simpler drivetrain just one motor and a torque converter, unlike the Volt's electric motor tango. Weight’s not as big a deal as people think, and regenerative braking is a real hero. Oh, and did I mention I live in Colorado? Because flat roads don’t exist here

If you wanna squeeze out extra range, do the one-pedal driving for better regen, keep your tires good, and warm up the car while it's plugged in. 'L' mode or eco mode might help too. Did he play around with drive modes to see if they boost efficiency?

I've been playing around with my driving style, and let me tell you, light acceleration seriously boosts my range! I also keep my speed in check—nothing crazier than 65 mph.
