Issues when I shift into reverse

Hi!
When I shift into reverse, the car jerks. This happens after it has stayed for a while. My foot is firmly on the brake, and the parking brake is off (though it happens even when it is on).
Other gears work fine. Any thoughts pls?

How many times did it happen until now? I am sure this happens when you try to shift when you are on an inclined road or something similar.

Usually it does that if you are still moving a tiny bit forward... quite a jerk when it does that!

Sounds like it could be some transmission lag or even sticky brakes. Does it feel like a mechanical jolt, or more like a hesitation before it engages?
