Hey everyone, does anyone know how long the Equinox's battery usually lasts? And will the 8-year warranty actually cover it if it goes bad?

Ok, so battery life can be affected by a bunch of things - like your driving habits or even the climate. But instead of the whole battery giving up on you, what usually happens is that one or two cells end up running low on voltage. The good news? It's often a quick fix, just swapping out those cells. And that's where the Ultium stuff really shines - it’s designed so that you can replace just the individual modules or groups of cells, no need to toss the whole battery.

As for the warranty, yeah, you’re definitely covered. From what I’ve seen with Volt and Bolt owners, anyone who needed a battery replacement under warranty got it at no cost, so I’d say the same would apply to the Equinox.

From what I've read, EV batteries, including those in the Equinox, are built to last a long time. The 8-year warranty is a safety net, but many users report their batteries performing well beyond that. If you take care of your battery, like avoiding frequent fast charging and not letting it drain completely, it should serve you well for many years. 👍
