Ok, so I've been hearing this weird thumping noise coming from the driver's side window of my Equinox EV when it's just a little cracked at hwy speeds. After doing some digging, it turns out this is actually pretty common with modern cars because of their sleek; aerodynamic design. It’s something called Helmholtz resonance, where the air flow creates a pressure wave that causes the noise.
If you're dealing with it, try cracking another window just a tiny bit. It can mess with the airflow enough to tone down the thumping.
Anyone else noticing this on their ride?
