For future electric vehicles (EVs), GM is deleting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay because of safety concerns. Distracted driving is caused by stability problems with CarPlay and Android Auto. Super Cruise and other semi-autonomous driving technologies will be added to GM's subscription offerings. By 2030, CEO Mary Barra hopes to generate $25 billion in revenue from these initiatives. The purpose of the change is to increase convenience and safety.

commendable CEO right there, still considering the safety and convenience of their loyal customers. I think its also good to improve the stability and handling of the car just for good measure y'know?

I'm really curious if they're actually going to block Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, or if they're just trying to force me to use their own system and pay extra for features. Either way, this whole Ultium thing just lost a lot of its appeal for me.
