Hey all, some time last week, I put down a deposit on an RS AWD with SuperCruise, and now I’m like a kid waiting for Santa, except Santa’s bringing self-driving tech instead of toys! Anyone out there who’s tried it? I want to know if SuperCruise is really as “super” as they say or if I’ll still be wrestling with the wheel on road trips...

Hi there! Congratulations on your SuperCruise RS AWD!
SuperCruise appears to live up to the hype, I am not going to lie, especially on highways.
A simple button press performs all the work when you are driving on approved roadways, so you can unwind (as long as you pay attention to the road).
The "scary" thing is it will warn you to pay attention if you look away for too long. This works based on a tracking system of your head's position.
It manages traffic remarkably well, modifying speeds and coming to a stop when necessary, which greatly reduces the stress of those bumper-to-bumper situations.
though, keep in mind that SuperCruise is careful while changing lanes, so you may have to take over heavy traffic to drive more quickly. In short, even though it's almost self-driving, it is still a driver.

It seems like SuperCruise really steps up on the highway, I'm excited to try it out. I’ll keep the head-tracking and lane change notes in mind, though...Can't wait to give it a go!

I also went for an RS with Supercruise. That feature is what got me interested in GM. I wouldn’t buy a car without it. To me, it's the future of driving.

Super Cruise mostly works like it's supposed to. But if the steering wheel starts flashing red, you gotta take over right away and wiggle the wheel.

If you don't, it'll lock you out and you have to restart the whole car. I learned that the hard way, but now I know!

Overall, I really like Super Cruise though.

Thanks for the heads-up, I’ll be more prepared when using it.

Haha, I love the comparison to waiting for Santa!🎅 As for SuperCruise, it's definitely a game-changer for long trips. It's like having a co-pilot who’s super chill and never asks to take over the wheel. That said, it’s not quite "set it and forget it", you might still need to keep your hands close by for those occasional steering wheel nudges. But hey for the most part it’ll make your road trips feel like a mini-vacation! Safe travels when it arrives;)

I appreciate the insight, it sounds like SuperCruise will be a great road trip companion, even if I can’t fully tune out. I’m excited to see how well it handles highways, hopefully, it makes long drives way smoother.

It's definitely a cool feature, but it's important to remember that it's still an advanced driver-assistanc system, not full autonomy. I've been thinkng about the limitations of these systems. You'll still need to be attentive and ready to take over. It's great for reducing fatigue on long drives, but you'll still need to be engaged. I've learned that realistic expectations are important.

haha, I totally get the excitement! I haven’t tried it myself yet, but from what I’ve heard, SuperCruise is pretty solid for long drives. It’s not fully hands-off everywhere, but it definitely takes a lot of the stress out of highway cruising. You should enjoy it once you get it
