Do you really think the 2025 Equinox EV model has a different motor than the 2024? I’m leaning towards it being the same motor, just modified for more power and tested differently to meet certification requirements with slightly higher specs. Thoughts?

I’ve been following the Equinox EV closely, and I’m leaning toward the idea that it’s a modified version of the same motor. From what I’ve read, the motor may be tuned for better performance or to meet stricter efficiency standards for the 2025 model. I’d imagine that the changes are subtle, but they could lead to better overall performance or range. It’ll be interesting to see if owners report noticeable differences once the 2025 model hits the road..

I doubt Chevy went through the effort of engineering a whole new motor for just one model year. More likely they adjusted the power mapping or fine-tuned the inverter settings to squeeze out a little more performance. If there’s an actual hardware change it’s probably minimal like different gearing or a slight efficiency boost.

I’ve read that it was a software update…
