Has anyone else had issues with the rear middle seatbelt alarm going off unexpectedly in the Equinox EV? It’s happened to me twice now, both times with my two kids in the outer seats and a bag on the floor between them. For some reason, the seatbelt alarm starts chiming like crazy, even though nothing is on the seat.

I tried having them clear everything off the seat, but the alarm didn’t stop until we moved the bag off the floor. Does anyone know why it would be so sensitive to something on the floor? Seems a bit strange!

I wonder if there’s a sensor under the seat that might be triggering it. Some EVs have sensitive sensors that detect pressure in strange ways, even if something’s on the floor. Maybe try placing the bag on the seat itself or keeping it farther from the center console? If it keeps happening, it might be worth mentioning to the dealer, they could offer a workaround or check if there’s a sensor issue. In the meantime, try keeping items closer to the outer seats if you can. 😔

What's in the bag? Anything metal in there or what? Could be the seat sensor acting up and messing with a magnetic field or something.
