I’ve been powering my home entirely with solar energy, generating an impressive 5,500 extra kWhs per year. Going fully green is my ultimate goal, and I’m curious about the Equinox’s V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) capabilities. Does anyone know when this feature might be available for the Equinox? I’d love to integrate my vehicle into my solar system for even more sustainable living. I’d greatly appreciate any insight.

GM lists the 2024 Equinox EV with vehicle-to-home (V2H) to power your house during outages, but it needs pricey GM gear to work, making it an expensive backup power option.

That seems like a really smart idea! V2H might be a good fit for that, however it will rely on your particular layout and the system of the car. If you want a more straightforward option that doesn't require a complete battery system, I would suggest speaking with the manufacturer or a nearby technician.

Though the additional GM equipment can make it expensive, it's good to know that V2H is accessible. I hope there will be more reasonably priced options in the future..
 
V2H is available w/ late year 2024 Equinox EVs and 2025 Equinox EVs
The GM "equipment" is so expensive (2X-4X what is reasonable) because it is not GM equipment. It is Schneider (Qmerit) equipment.
While Schneider is quality stuff, it is very difficult to find an installer who is a solar trained/qualified professional. And Schneider equipment REQUIRES a Schneider trained installer. The problem is with their software. It is not user friendly. Schneider concentrates on industrial usage/installs/sales.
Others (Enphase, etc.) are supposedly offering V2H installs next year. But while they may be less expensive than Schneider (Qmerit), they will not be reasonably priced. The technology is there but CoalOilGasUtility(COGU) fights, and to a great degree controls(ex.: solid state) most solar, wind and EV progress. They have billions of (tax free) dollars at their disposal. (only a grass roots movement has any power in fighting them and there is no such movement [apathy] at the moment).
It is therefor wait and see.
I am hoping the wait is not too long (getting older; am completely no combustion fuels for energy- heat pumps; provide more electricity than we use: battery backup, AC coupled, bimodal solar [provide all electrons for EVs via it]; own Equinox EV{V2H, plan ahead} and Bolt)
