I want to know if using the "leave running for 1 hour" feature to keep my car cool while I hasten to get groceries from a store is safe. I'll use the key fob to lock the car, but I'm a little concerned about the possibility of theft.

I keep the car charged to 85% and have solar power at home, so I'm not worried about battery drain. Keeping the groceries fresh in this hot weather is my top priority.

Has anyone given this a try? Do you have any tips or stories to share?

I’ve used the "leave running for 1 hour" feature a few times, especially in hot weather, to keep the car cool while running errands. Personally, I’ve never had any issues with theft, but I always make sure to park in a well-lit, secure area. Since you’re concerned about theft, it’s a good idea to lock the car with the fob and make sure all windows are fully closed. I’ve found that setting the car to a lower temperature in advance helps it cool faster. If you have solar power at home, it sounds like a good balance for battery life and keeping groceries fresh..
