I recently bought a new Equinox EV and it's already having battery issues. The car displayed a 'Service Vehicle Soon' message and a red battery light. The dealership says I need a new high-voltage battery, which could take weeks to replace. Has anyone else had this issue with their Equinox EV?
 
Wait, what?! Your shiny new ride already needs a HV battery replacement? Are they swapping out the whole dang battery or just patching up a bad module?
 
I have not had this issue, but can offer some advice. Email GM CEO Mary Barra. While you won't get a reply from her directly you will get a more top level person to help you through this. [email protected]

I've been working with one of Mary's Minions (I don't mean any disrespect by this name) and they were finally able to actually get the one last part needed to fix my car damaged from an accident by taking the part off the assembly line in Mexico and sending it to my dealer. I hope to get my car back soon (maybe even this week) after getting in the accident August 12 after having the car for just 3 weeks at that time. Mary's Minion is also working with me on compensation to "make things right."

I've been incredibly frustrated and impatient with this process, but even my dealer said that escalating my issue directly to GM was helpful in the getting the parts they needed.
