here’s a thought that’s been on my mind: Do you think GM might pivot toward hydrogen fuel in the future, even after committing so heavily to EVs? It’s interesting to think about whether a hydrogen-powered Equinox or similar vehicle could ever be on the table.

Hydrogen seems like it could be cheaper than gasoline, especially as infrastructure improves. Plus, refueling times are much shorter than charging an EV, which might appeal to people who aren’t ready for the switch to electric yet. But then there’s the question of how sustainable or practical hydrogen really is compared to EVs.

What do you all think? Could GM be eyeing hydrogen as the next step, or are they all-in on EVs for the long haul? Would you consider a hydrogen-powered Equinox if it became an option down the road?

I think GM is all-in on EVs for now. Hydrogen could be a future step once the infrastructure catches up. The Equinox EV already fills a great niche for people transitioning to electric, so adding a hydrogen option might make sense down the line for those who prioritize quick refueling. Personally, I’d need to see a lot more hydrogen stations before considering it, but it’s definitely an intriguing idea. That said, if GM did a hydrogen pivot, I’d love to see it paired with their Ultium platform somehow. Maybe we’ll see hydrogen and EV coexist one day! 🤔
